The BRAIN governs every function of our body; from breathing to magical thinking.
The MIND is the result of what our BRAIN learns and remembers which in turn determines our perception and expectations of LIFE.
The BRAIN does not have a 'spam folder' that separates bullsh*t, fanciful notions, TV Commercials, or dreams, from authentic experiences like your 10th Birthday Party.
So basically your BRAIN is embedded up there doing whatever the hell it wants to like
LADY SOVEREIGN
> CLICKHERE <
singing Love Me or Hate Me over and over and over and over...
"Love me or hate me, it's still an obsession.
Love me or hate me, that is the question.
If you love me then-thank youuuuu!
If you hate me then-f*ck youuuuu!
Yeah I do have some stories.
And its true I want all the glory.
Go on then, come on support me,
I'm your BRAIN, try and deport me!"
Lady Sovereign is über-cool.
ReplyDeleteWhy does my brain play Barry Manilow's Copacabana on a continuous loop?
ReplyDeletehum...weird weird weird. has there been any case of someone having TWO brains! now that will b uber cool!
ReplyDeletesome days my brain has a tendency to stay home sleeping leaving me to cope all alone at work!
ReplyDeleteRobert Heinlein, a good sci-fi writer (unlike that Hubbard hack), once used an analogy for esp in Time for the Stars that I like for the human brain's bullshit detector.
ReplyDeleteThink of a kid throwing a tennis ball at a picket fence. the pickets are just far enough apart to let the ball through. Most of the time, the ball will hit or barely graze a picket and not get through, but every so often, there is a perfect throw. This is how, I think, most bullshit pervades human consciousness. When you're distracted or not paying attention, it bypasses your bullshit detector. If by the mistakes of nature or nurture you seldom pay attention, you're the perfect tabula rasa for 'ol Revrund Whatsaholler.
Your point?
ReplyDeletethe michael: Don't know if you were addressing me, but I was responding to this.

Point being that I believe that the brain does have a "spam filter", just a very unreliable one.
YOU have a brain?
ReplyDeleteHow mind boggling odd is that?
Im officially brain-dead.
ReplyDeleteKeshi.
Brains R fun!
ReplyDeleteBut I haven't quite figured it all out...yet.........
"My own brain is to me the most unaccountable of machinery-always buzzing, humming, soaring, roaring, diving, and then buried in mud. And why? What's this passion for"?
(Virgina Woolf)
rubbish, I'm managing quite well without one thanks.
ReplyDelete"Brain and brain! What is brain?" - The head Imorg from the 1968 "Spock's Brain" Star Trek episode. I can't believe no one has made a .wav file of that yet!
ReplyDeleteI believe I said "the brain", not "my brain". It's better not to read too much into these things. As Freud once said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a dildo".
YOUR brain may not have a spam folder but mine does and it's both consistent and immediate. It's called inattention and the pundits call it ADD.
ReplyDeletewhere is the funny replies?!
