Like many of you I've been really trying to ignore the slick production and zillions of comments on the WORLD'S 50 MOST POWERFUL BLOGS !

Let's face it, those are not really Blogs anymore, they are Businesses.
The Corporations are trying to ruin Blogging by discouraging people who don't get a couple thousand hits an hour or carry their ADs.
If I wanted to read a magazine I would.

This reminds me of WATCH THIS Johnny Quest selling out and hawking Runners back in the 60s.

There I hope that you appreciate the fact that I eschewed the opportunity to pull a little RICKROLLING on you. RickRolling is the hilarious 'Internet phenomenon' sweeping the globe, in which some twat will post a blind link to a page allegedly relevant to the post's topic, but it will prove to be a prank and link you to Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" on YouTube. HA-HA-HA What Fun!

  1. My blog is a commodity. I am poised to make over $400 this year through online ads on my blog and videoblogs. It has changed how I write, I'll admit: I write and produce better posts and videos, and I take more time to edit for clarity and grammar. Advertisements have made my videoblog better.

  2. That sounded like an ad, Michael.

Thanks for the Rick Astley image -- haven't had that image in my mind for, well, decades. The most badly-matched voice/body ever. So much so that it's impossible to look away.

  3. I'm selling my used panties on my blog.

    Quantities are limited.

    Buy now!!!

  4. I can't tell you how many millions of UK Pounds I have been offered. From...

The One Man And His Dog television programme.

    Bexleyheath Tourist Board.

    The Victorian Restaurant, Bexleyheath.

The Friends Of William Morris Fountain, Bexleyheath.

I'm literally inundated with offers day after day. My email inbox is overflowing, but do I capitulate?

  5. Geoff, you make it sound like you've got a gun to your head. I hardly think drowning in your inbox is life threatening, nor that your plight is difficult.

Hey, why are you ragging on Rick Astley? He was a musical genius who brought British super-group rock to the forefront of the 1970's music scene . . . oh, that was Rick Wakeman.

    Forget I said anything.

  7. oookay! thats not a monkey! thats a chimpanzoo...or a bonobo!

    american advertisers suck!

  8. Anonymous5:13 p.m.

Was that used panties or currently in-use panties?

    Eliot Spitzer

  9. you know, ill put you number 1 in the most influential blogger if they let me to. u r d best.

  10. Anonymous6:40 p.m.

Do you really think it was in good taste to have Jonny flash 'COMING!' to Race?

  11. I stand to make NO money on my blog this year, or next year, or whatever years that follow. But that is fine. Did anyone really start blogging for money? I did it for fun and for myself and that is all that makes a difference to me.
If someone offers money to me for blogging professional then why would I turn that down? But if someone does this to to try and make a living then stand in line with the other wannabe writers that grace the world wide web for your page may never be seen.

Go ahead!! Don't read my blog. I dare ya'.

  12. Anonymous11:01 p.m.

The hwole blogging for money thing makes me uncomfortable. When I read a post and realize part way thorugh it''s actually an ad, I feel rooked. I typically don't visit blogs (more than once) that do pay-per-post type things.

  13. I
    never sell out!

However........ $ a million may raise my eyebrows some!

  14. Is this a sly promo for your forthcoming book "Homo Escutcheons and the Great Escape"?

  15. rickrolling --- who comes up with these things and better yet, names them?
