IT FINALLY HAPPENED!

How would you know if you were stark, raving, mad?

I mean really? Who would you believe?

What is THE definitive sign that should set off all of the alarms?
Seriously...haven't you ever worried, even for a moment, that you were a complete nutter..a looney..crazy?

Was Freddy (Farrokh Bulsara) Mercury on to something when he sang I'm Going Slightly Mad?

"One thousand and one yellow daffodils Begin to dance in front of you - oh dear...
One wave short of a shipwreck...
I'm knitting with only one needle
Unravelling fast its true
I'm driving only three wheels these days
But my dear how about you?

I'm going slightly mad

I'm going slightly mad

It finally happened

Every now and then I stop and actually try to get my head around this THIS and I try to imagine how it could end well..
It finally happened oh yes

It finally happened

I'm slightly mad!

Just very slightly mad!"

And there you have it!

  5. Frankly, yes! I'm quite sure I'm mad. I have to be, right? It's the only sane explanation.

  6. Being just very slightly mad is good.

It's a lot of fun, people are inclined to give you your "space".

You can always act sane when need arises.

    Great way to relax.

Statistics tell us 1 in 4 people end up insane (in Canada), think of your 4 best friends, if they are fine, chances are it's you! :)

(That's borrowed from a quotist)...and adapted to country of choice. :-)

  7. Act mad and people think you're a genius in disguise.
Stop acting and that's when they realise you are really mad!
It happens to me every day.

  8. But we knew that already - that's why we come over here.

  9. Mad? Moi?

If we are then you are too. There's no "I" in team...

    ReplyDelete
  10. If you question whether you are mad or not, then you are completely sane, as only an irretrievably loopy nut job will insist to everyone who'll listen (including those floating white bunnies and the talking thermometer over there) that they are SANE SANE SANE........SANE I tell you!!

  11. It's actually quite sad... going mad, I mean. One of my uncles has lost it and is tearing his family apart in the process. He refuses to believe he has a problem and refuses to get any help. His immediate family feel frustrated and helpless and are doing their best to cope. Mental illness generally has worse effects on those close to the one with the illness than the actual one with the illness. Very sad indeed.

You do see the gross inaccuracy of that statement, don't you? Please tell me you do! C'mon, seriously, you can not mean that.

  13. Do you know something? I am truly mad. If only you knew how much.

Although you obviously did not intend it, I feel kind of very sad reading this post.

Freddy was the male equivalent of a Mariah Carey or Kate Bush. He was an astounding performer...Live Aid..everybody else, other than Madonna, looked they could have used a few rehearsals..Freddy STOLE the show.

  26. and then MJ added the crazy song..

and I laughed out loud because I am old enough to remember when they played that on AM radio...I can never quite get over how badly AM radio sucked.

To which I wholeheartedly concur. Acceptance is a vital part of the road to recovery and although I am taking my first baby steps I hope to be there by my 60th birthday.

Screw it, HE. Or (if it's still twitching) stop it, Then screw it. This whole mental stability thing just baffles me.
What's it mean, at the end of the day? Now, let's have a look at the
    instructions on the packet:

"Don't cross the black wire with the white wire. In the bathtub."

    Check! ZZZZZttt! Splash...

(Were I conscious, I might close

Yes this is a reminder that sure it's funny until it actuially happens to you. I uinderstand your concept that if you don't know what you're missing it cannot be missed...but deep down..don't they know in some tiny little corner of their brain? I guess some people might..it is as sad as it is scary.

  35. Ok I don't know WHY some people respond to comments in this fashion...I give up!

  36. rimtimtim,
My word. I think that you are missing the point. I agree that those involved with the afflicted suffer equally in their own way.

    gautaumi,
I know one thing for certain..You are always MAD at me!

    rimster,
Freddy gave AIDS worldwide exposure. He would have been a marvelous advocate for ghey issues had he survived. He was one of the greatest performers in Rock history...there how is that?

Hey Pumkin, do you suppose that Bohemian Rhaps would have made such a comeback without Wayne's World?

The Great White Snake. I hear ya mate! I am just as terrified of that old Ignorance is bliss thing...why can't there be a happy median for anything F*CK!!

Lee you are definitely a little off but you are not a loonie..which is $1 dollar here in Canada...crazy as a loon just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Punkin, the fact that you and rimsky keep suggesting Tequila as the drink of choice for a getogether is of great concern to me. When I drink Tekillya I do weird things that I would never do if I was drinking Rum or Rye...I am not convinced that Tequila isn't Mexican LSD...I almost always have visons or shave things that I shouldn't.

    rimsky korsokov,
I think so...to borrow a phrase from The Princess Bride..
I don't think that means what you think it means.

"Put the butterfly net down and I'll come out of my cell without a struggle...Nurse Ratchet what are you hiding behind your back?"

    OK they're gone.
I tried to tell myself that the world is looney but the others disagreed and many of them had some valid points...especially Napoleon.

    angel,
It was about how there have been 5 major Extinctions on planet Earth and everytime the NEXT group moved up the ladder. For instance the Reptiles overtook the Amphibians and the Mammals skipped ahead of the Reptiles and Dinosaurs.

Every once in a while I wonder how we're going to finish up and who, or what, will fill the vacuum.

  48. "Intelligent Design" does not mean that humans should not be accountable for their actions and the ramifications thereof.

Just because we have mucked up what was one a "good" thing, does not mean that there was no "Intelligent Design" behind it to begin with.

We were delegated to rule over that which was created, and we, being fallible, shit the bed on this.

Hardly an argument against "Intelligent Design"

  49. gloria,
Actually as an Agnostic I am fully open to having a ultimate architect. That being said I am convinced that we are hopelessly unaware of their intent or methods since our present physiology was arrived at via such a painfully happenstance method...just sayin' is all.

By definition the ID peeps adhere to the 6 day young Earth theory which is of course blatantly incorrect and incredibly naive.
I take issue with those who would sneak that notion into Science. books.
